Lost Lands 2025: Bunk Police Harm Reduction Recap

We had an incredible time at Lost Lands 2025, where our team educated and served hundreds of attendees with test strips, reagent test kits, and harm reduction practices from Wednesday through Sunday.

Set up in Camp Spinosaurus, we connected with festival-goers all weekend long, helping people feel confident in testing their substances, sharing harm reduction education, and hearing powerful stories about how Bunk Police test kits have saved lives. We left feeling extremely energized about the work still to come!

Looking Back: 2024 vs. 2025

At Lost Lands 2024, things were much more difficult. One of our team members was detained, and our presence was nearly shut down by security. The only reason we were able to continue operating was because Excision himself stepped in and made it clear that harm reduction has a place at his festival.

This year, we experienced zero issues at our campground booth, and we believe Excision’s support played a big role in that. The shift was noticeable—instead of worrying about being shut down, we were free to focus fully on helping attendees stay safe.

Teaching our 3-Step Testing Protocol

One of the biggest parts of our work at Lost Lands was educating people on our 3-Step Testing Protocol, the safest way to check substances:

1️⃣ Check your substance for fentanyl with test strips.
2️⃣ Verify your substance and identify additional adulterants with multiple reagents.
3️⃣ Use the Transparency Harm Reduction App to compare your results to our lab-verified reaction videos.

We had countless conversations about why this protocol matters and why just using a fentanyl test strip isn’t enough. Breaking down the process gave people a concrete framework they could take home, share with friends, and keep using in the future.

Stories From the Campgrounds

Our work didn’t stop at the booth. Throughout the campgrounds and the venue, we walked, talked, and connected with people wherever they were. Many attendees opened up about how Bunk Police test kits had already saved lives, prevented overdoses, or simply brought them peace of mind in uncertain situations.

Hearing those stories face-to-face always grounds us in why we do this work. Every kit distributed and every conversation shared is a ripple effect—keeping individuals, friend groups, and entire communities safer.

Closing Out the 2025 Festival Season

Lost Lands marked the final stop of our 2025 festival season. This past year, we’ve served thousands of people at events nationwide, providing education, tools, and support for anyone who wanted to reduce risk and make safer choices.

It’s been a joy and an honor to show up at these events, and we’re deeply grateful to every person who took the time to stop by, share their story, or test with us. We’re excited to see what 2026 will bring and we’re ready to keep pushing harm reduction forward in the festival space and beyond!
